A global life sciences manufacturer is expanding its production footprint in Thailand’s Eastern Economic Corridor. The company is setting up a multinational project team to deliver a new manufacturing facility through construction, commissioning and start-up, in a regulated, GMP-driven environment.

Eastern Economic Corridor, Thailand | Reports to: Head of Project Execution

ROLE PURPOSE

Own the delivery of process-related project packages on a new GMP manufacturing facility, from concept through start-up. This is a hands-on individual contributor role for a project manager who understands the process itself, not only the building around it.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Ownership

• Deliver assigned project packages from kick-off through start-up and hand-off
• Build and maintain project plans, timelines, budgets and milestones
• Control scope, cost, schedule, quality and project risk
• Report progress and escalate key decisions to program leadership

Process & Technical Scope

• Lead process packages covering bioprocessing, product recovery and finishing steps
• Coordinate the tie-ins between process equipment, utilities, HVAC and building works
• Make sure the facility design and installation meet GMP requirements
• Support equipment commissioning, qualification and handover to production

Stakeholder Management

• Align internal functions: operations, quality, safety, purchasing and finance
• Direct engineering firms, contractors, equipment vendors and consultants
• Settle competing priorities between parties on a fast-paced site
• Collaborate daily with an international project team

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Education: Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical or Civil Engineering, Pharmaceutical Engineering or a related field
• Experience: 5+ years managing industrial capital projects; experience with international project teams
• Technical: Process project experience (fermentation, recovery or drying a strong plus); knowledge of GMP facilities; involvement in commissioning and start-up
• Leadership: Takes full ownership; meticulous; strong team player; productive from day one
• Languages: Thai national; fluent English for daily project communication; Mandarin an advantage
• Certifications: Project management certification a plus
• Industry: Pharmaceuticals, food, biotech, chemicals or similar regulated process industries
