About JNC
JNC is a locally owned, full-service general contractor headquartered in West Fargo, North Dakota, specializing in multifamily and commercial construction and development.
With more than 5,500 housing units and 7 million square feet completed, JNC brings a unique builder-developer perspective to its projects. The company is built around partnership, accountability, and strong relationships, with an ambitious vision for continued growth.
The Role
JNC is seeking a Multifamily Project Manager to lead construction projects from initial estimating and preconstruction through final completion and turnover.
This is a hands-on opportunity for an experienced Project Manager or a high-potential Assistant Project Manager ready to take the next step. You'll progressively take ownership of multiple multifamily projects, typically two valued at approximately $10 million each, overseeing budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and overall project execution.
Working alongside an experienced multifamily project management team, you'll benefit from direct mentorship, established processes, and opportunities for continued professional growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage multifamily construction projects from preconstruction through completion, ensuring schedule, budget, quality, and safety objectives are met.
- Oversee project financials, including budgeting, cost tracking, forecasting, and reporting.
- Perform quantity takeoffs, develop estimates, evaluate subcontractor pricing, and contribute to value-engineering solutions.
- Lead weekly construction meetings and coordinate project teams, subcontractors, owners, and development partners.
- Manage contract administration, procurement, scheduling, and subcontractor relationships.
- Review construction documents, identify project risks, and coordinate major construction scopes, including site work, structural, enclosure, finishes, and MEP.
- Collaborate with leadership to improve processes, support team development, and contribute to continued business growth.
What Sets a Candidate Up for Success
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field with 5+ years of construction management experience, or 10+ years of project management experience.
- Experience managing commercial or multifamily construction projects, with responsibility for budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and project delivery.
- Multifamily construction experience strongly preferred; mixed-use, affordable housing, or senior housing experience is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, building systems, sequencing, and major trade scopes.
- Hands-on experience with estimating, takeoffs, contract administration, procurement, project costing, and scheduling.
- Proficiency with construction budgeting and scheduling software.
- Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with a proactive and accountable approach.
- Ability to work primarily from JNC's West Fargo office and travel periodically to project locations.
