Project Manager

About the role

This is a project management position in the fire protection industry, responsible for overseeing project execution from planning through completion, ensuring compliance with scope, schedule, cost and quality requirements and ensuring the terms and conditions of the contracts are met according to project blueprints and architectural specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Project Planning: Develop project plans, schedules and budgets to achieve project objectives within the approved timeline and budget
• Project Management: Oversee day-to-day project execution, ensuring compliance with project scope, schedule, cost and quality requirements
• Team Leadership: Lead, supervise and coordinate project teams to ensure efficient execution and timely completion
• Cost & Progress Control: Monitor project progress, costs and resource utilisation, and take corrective action when necessary
• Risk Management: Identify potential project risks, delays and issues, and implement appropriate mitigation measures
• Stakeholder Coordination: Coordinate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and relevant authorities to ensure smooth project execution
• Technical & Quality Control: Review project drawings and specifications, and ensure fire protection installation works meet required quality standards and applicable regulations
• Project Reporting: Prepare progress reports and update management on project status, costs, risks and outstanding issues
• Safety & Compliance: Ensure project activities comply with contractual requirements, company procedures and applicable safety regulations

About you

• Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• Minimum 5 years of working experience in the fire protection industry
• Strong leadership, project management and team management skills
• Excellent interpersonal, time management, communication, presentation, negotiation and report-writing skills
• Ability to lead, manage and mentor project teams effectively
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Knowledge of AutoCAD as an added advantage)
• Positive working attitude, responsible, trustworthy and self-motivated
• Willing to travel to project sites as required
• Experience in coordinating with clients, consultants, subcontractors and relevant authorities
