Project Manager - Commercial Construction

Vertex Facades supplies and installs commercial glazing, aluminium windows, doors and façade systems on commercial construction projects across Western Australia.

We are looking for a Project Manager to take responsibility for the complete delivery of commercial façade and glazing projects from contract handover through to completion.

This is a delivery role. You will be responsible for programme, quality, site coordination, client communication, budget control, variations, defects and final handover.

You do not need to come from a façade or glazing background. We can teach the product. What we need is someone who can take ownership of a construction project, lead activity on site, communicate clearly with the builder and stay across the details that protect programme and margin.

The role

You will manage commercial façade and glazing projects generally ranging from $500k to $5M.

You will report to the Operations Manager and be responsible for making sure your projects are delivered properly.

That means knowing your programme, knowing your drawings, knowing your site constraints, knowing your budget and knowing what needs to happen next.

You will coordinate installers and subcontractors, monitor progress on site, communicate with the head contractor’s project team, manage project issues early and drive the job through to completion.

This is not a desk-based PM role. Computer skills and administration are important, but you will need to be comfortable walking site, checking progress, speaking with trades, solving problems and representing Vertex professionally in front of the builder.

How we support you

You will not be left to run the project without structure.

The Operations Manager sets the project programme and provides delivery oversight.

The Design Manager and Operations Manager lead the shop drawing and design process to keep consistency across our projects.

The Project Coordinator supports you with programme monitoring, documentation and administration.

Key responsibilities

Manage commercial façade and glazing projects from handover to completion.

Coordinate daily site activity with installers and subcontractors.

Monitor site progress against the programme.

Identify delays, access issues, design issues and site constraints early.

Communicate clearly with the head contractor’s project team.

Manage project budgets, variations, claims, defects and handover.

Protect project margin through disciplined delivery and commercial control.

Review drawings, scopes, procurement requirements and installation sequencing.

Maintain quality standards on site.

Represent Vertex professionally with builders, consultants, installers and suppliers.

What we are looking for

Commercial construction experience in Western Australia.

Experience managing trades, subcontractors or site delivery.

Strong site presence.

Ability to read drawings and understand construction sequencing.

Commercial awareness and confidence managing costs, variations and project budgets.

Clear communication with builders, trades and internal teams.

A practical problem-solving mindset.

A willingness to learn façades, glazing and aluminium systems.

A current WA driver’s licence.

Full working rights in Australia.

A trade background, site management background, construction management qualification, engineering qualification or architecture background would all be considered.
