A bit about us: We are a Newport Beach–based general contractor seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee commercial construction projects, with a primary focus on tenant improvements ranging from $50,000 to $2 million. This is an office-based position in Newport Beach that includes weekly travel to Los Angeles for project and client meetings; all other work is performed on-site at our Newport Beach office.

The ideal candidate is a self-directed professional who can manage multiple projects simultaneously, keep budgets and schedules on track, and serve as the central point of coordination between clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.

Job Details Project Manager – Commercial Construction (Tenant Improvements)

Location: Newport Beach, CA (in-office) with weekly travel to Los Angeles

Employment Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Compensation: $100,000 – $120,000 base salary, plus bonus

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage commercial tenant improvement projects from preconstruction through closeout, ranging from $50,000 to $2 million in value.
• Develop, monitor, and maintain project budgets, schedules, and scopes of work.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Prepare and manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and subcontractor agreements.
• Oversee procurement, buyout, and cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate and lead project meetings, including weekly meetings in Los Angeles.
• Track project progress, identify risks early, and implement solutions to keep work on schedule and on budget.
• Ensure all work is completed in compliance with plans, specifications, building codes, and safety standards.
• Manage project documentation and reporting within Procore.
• Collaborate with field superintendents to ensure quality control and timely delivery.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of project management experience in commercial construction, with tenant improvement experience strongly preferred.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently within the $50,000–$2 million range.
• Proficiency with Procore is required.
• Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) is required.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, contracts, budgets, and scheduling.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to travel weekly to Los Angeles for meetings.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
