Project Manager – (Construction Consultant)

Halcyon Project Management Ltd (HPM) is a Hawke’s Bay based consultancy providing professional project management services to clients across New Zealand’s construction and property sectors.

We specialise in guiding construction projects from early planning through to successful delivery, working closely with our clients to achieve practical, well-managed outcomes.

With a strong and growing pipeline of work, we are looking for an Intermediate or Senior Construction Project  Manager to join our Napier team.

This is an opportunity to take a leading role on significant building projects, working directly with clients,  consultants and contractors to drive projects from concept through to completion.

The Opportunity

At HPM you will be trusted to take ownership of projects and play a key role in delivering successful outcomes for our clients. As a smaller consultancy, our team members are closely involved in every stage of a project and have  real influence on decisions and delivery.

Your work will include:

• Managing building projects from initial planning and design through to construction and completion
• Coordinating and leading project teams including consultants, contractors and stakeholders
• Managing programme, cost control and reporting
• Supporting procurement processes and consultant selection
• Chairing project meetings and ensuring actions are followed through
• Maintaining a strong focus on quality, safety, and client satisfaction

About You

We are looking for someone who brings sound technical knowledge along with the ability to build strong working relationships across project teams.

Ideally you will have:

• A tertiary qualification in construction management, engineering, architecture, building science or similar
• At least 3 years’ professional experience delivering vertical construction or commercial building projects within a project management, consultant, contractor, or client-side environment
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• A strong understanding of health and safety practices
• A New Zealand driver licence
• A project management qualification such as PRINCE2 or PMP, or a desire to work towards one
