PROJECT MANAGER (CONTRACT MANAGEMENT)

a. Pre-Award Contract Management:

· Lead the development of procurement strategies for major packages (e.g., pipeline construction, pump stations, engineering services).

·       Collaborate with the technical and legal teams to develop robust Invitations to Tender (ITT), Request for Proposals (RFP), and contract documents.

· Manage the tender process, including pre-bid meetings, clarifications, and evaluation of submissions.

· Lead contract negotiations with vendors, focusing on terms, conditions, pricing, and risk allocation.

b. Contract Administration & Execution:

· Serve as the primary commercial point of contact for assigned contractors and suppliers after contract award.

·       Officially administer the contract, ensuring all parties meet their obligations as defined in the agreement.

· Manage the formal contract communication process, including issuing and responding to all official correspondence.

·       Chair regular contract review meetings with vendors to monitor performance, address issues, and drive accountability.

c. Financial & Change Management:

· Review and validate contractor payment applications, invoices, and claims for accuracy against milestones and deliverables.

· Manage the change control process, including the evaluation, negotiation, and execution of contract variations (change orders).

· Forecast and control the budget for assigned contract packages, identifying any cost variances and implementing corrective actions.

· Identify and pursue opportunities for cost savings and value engineering without compromising quality or safety.

d. Risk & Dispute Management:

· Maintain a risk register for all assigned contracts and develop risk mitigation strategies.

· Manage the early resolution of disputes and potential claims in collaboration with the legal department.

· Ensure compliance with contractual notice provisions to protect the project's legal and financial interests.

e. Performance & Relationship Management:

·       Monitor and report on contractor performance against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to safety, quality, schedule, and cost.

· Foster professional and collaborative relationships with contractors to facilitate partnership and problem-solving.

· Conduct contract close-out activities, including final account agreement, release of liens, and lessons-learned workshops.
