About the Opportunity

We are working with a leading EPC contractor seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their growing data center construction division.

The initial assignment involves a 10MW data center retrofit and facility upgrade in Elk Grove Village, IL. The project is already underway and requires a Project Manager capable of delivering complex construction activities within a live, operational facility.

This is a permanent, long-term opportunity, with a strong pipeline of additional data center projects beyond the initial assignment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day delivery of a major data center retrofit and infrastructure upgrade.
• Oversee construction activities within an operational, mission-critical environment.
• Coordinate subcontractors, engineering teams, vendors and site personnel.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, procurement and construction milestones.
• Ensure construction activities are completed safely, with minimal disruption to existing facility operations.
• Work closely with clients and stakeholders to manage project expectations and technical challenges.
• Identify and resolve construction issues to maintain project progress.
• Ensure quality, safety and compliance standards are maintained throughout delivery.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager within commercial, industrial or mission-critical construction.
• Data center construction, retrofit or facility upgrade experience strongly preferred.
• Experience managing construction within live or operational facilities.
• Strong understanding of MEP systems, construction sequencing and subcontractor management.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver technically complex projects against demanding schedules.
• Experience working for a general contractor, EPC contractor or specialist MEP contractor.
• Strong communication, leadership and client management skills.
• Ability to work on-site in the Elk Grove Village / Greater Chicago area.
