Project Manager: Data Center Construction

A firm on gigBench needs a Project Manager to support a large data center construction project in West Texas. This is an active, on-site engagement, and the firm is looking to bring someone on as soon as possible.

You’ll oversee scope, schedule, budget and quality on critical infrastructure work, working closely with the owner, contractors and the MEP and commissioning teams to keep the project moving and decisions on time.

What You’ll Do

• Manage overall project scope, identify scope changes, and escalate them for timely decisions
• Identify functional, financial and schedule risks and develop mitigation plans
• Support the development, review and analysis of budgets, GMP, cash flow and pay applications
• Analyze the critical path schedule and help work through schedule challenges
• Develop and review MOPs and technical test documents for Factory Witness Tests and commissioning
• Support RFP development, bid leveling and contractor selection
• Oversee QA/QC processes, review quality documentation and track quality metrics
• Communicate project issues clearly across the team and to leadership, in writing and in meetings

What We’re Looking For

• 8+ years of construction project management experience, ideally 10+
• Hands-on experience with data center or critical infrastructure projects
• Strong understanding of how MEP systems work together, including start-up, commissioning and operations
• Previous participation in Factory Witness Test and commissioning programs
• Experience with critical path scheduling, cost control and contractor procurement
• Strong leadership, organization and communication skills in a cross-functional team

Relevant backgrounds include construction management, project management, MEP/HVAC engineering, QA/QC, scheduling and planning, project controls, estimating and cost analysis, and construction engineering.
