We are looking for an experienced Electrical Engineering professional to lead renewable energy projects, particularly utility-scale solar projects. The role covers design, project delivery, construction support and commissioning, while providing technical leadership, managing project resources, coordinating with clients and stakeholders, and mentoring engineers to ensure quality and compliance with applicable standards.

Key Responsibilities :

·  Lead electrical engineering projects, mainly in renewable energy, from studies and design through construction support, commissioning and closeout.

·   Manage multiple projects, including scope, programme, resources, budgets and deliverables. Address risks, delays and scope changes.

·   Provide technical leadership for LV, MV and HV systems, power distribution, protection, earthing, lightning protection, metering and grid interconnection.

·  Review drawings, calculations, specifications and reports to ensure technical quality and compliance with project requirements.

·  Act as the main project contact and lead discussions with clients, contractors, suppliers, utilities and authorities. Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and follow-up actions.

·  Oversee authority submissions and approval tracking, ensuring compliance with applicable standards and utility requirements.

·  Oversee site inspections, technical queries, design changes, corrective actions, testing, commissioning and performance verification within the appointed scope.

·  Lead and mentor engineers, delegate work and report progress, resource needs and risks to management. Support proposals for additional services

Key Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Experience :

·  Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent recognised qualification.

·   Minimum 10-15 years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years leading engineering teams or managing projects.

·   Strong experience in electrical design, technical review and project delivery, preferably within an engineering consultancy.

·   Sound knowledge of LV, MV and HV systems, power distribution, protection, earthing, lightning protection, metering and grid interconnection.

·  Proven experience delivering utility scale solar projects, including engineering coordination and client management. BESS experience is an added advantage.

·  Familiarity with Malaysian requirements, MS and IEC standards, utility specifications, authority submissions, construction coordination and commissioning.

·  Strong engineering judgement, leadership, communication and planning skills. Able to manage multiple projects, resolve technical issues and manage consultancy scope, budgets and variations.

·  Professional Engineer registration with BEM is preferred; Possesses own transportation and is willing to travel
