Project Manager - Electronic Security

About the opportunity

An established electronic security integrator is looking for an experienced Project Manager to join its Melbourne team, overseeing the delivery of commercial electronic security projects from initiation through to completion.

Working across a diverse portfolio of commercial clients and complex security environments, you'll take ownership of project planning, budgets, timelines, resource allocation and client relationships. You'll work closely with technicians, contractors, internal stakeholders and customers to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

This is a hands-on leadership role that combines project delivery with team management, commercial oversight and client engagement. Alongside managing existing projects, you'll contribute to tenders, quotations and sales opportunities, helping support the continued growth of the business.

The role

• Manage electronic security projects from initial planning and mobilisation through to installation, commissioning and final handover.
• Develop and maintain project plans, budgets, schedules and resource allocation to meet agreed deliverables.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with commercial clients, subcontractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Lead and support technicians and contractors, providing direction, mentoring and guidance throughout project delivery.
• Coordinate project resources with the State Manager and oversee project pre-start meetings, progress updates and completion reviews.
• Maintain accurate project records, schedules, work orders and invoicing through SimPRO, ensuring invoices are processed promptly following project completion.
• Oversee health, safety and environmental compliance, including SWMS, site inductions, safety plans and toolbox talks appropriate to project size and risk.
• Contribute to tenders, quotations and sales activities, identifying opportunities to support future project growth.

About you

• Minimum 3 years' experience successfully delivering projects within the electronic security industry.
• Background in electronic security project management, with experience coordinating technicians, subcontractors and commercial project requirements.
• Experience with project management software, ideally SimPRO.
• Confident using Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams and Planner.
• Familiarity with enterprise electronic security platforms such as Genetec, Gallagher, Inner Range Integriti, Axis, Avigilon and Tecom.
• Strong understanding of project budgets, scheduling, procurement, invoicing and resource management.
• Knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements, including SWMS, toolbox talks and site inductions.
• Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Commercially minded, with the confidence to engage clients, contribute to tenders and identify opportunities for further work.
• A degree in Project Management, Business, Engineering or a related discipline is advantageous, although equivalent industry experience will be considered.
