Project Manager – Engineering & Mission-Critical Projects

About the role

As Project Manager, you will have overall accountability for the successful delivery of a portfolio of projects, including programme, commercial performance, customer relationships, risk and project closeout. You will work across the full project lifecycle, coordinating Design & Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, Site Delivery, Commercial, Quality and Commissioning. This is a role with genuine accountability for both the commercial and delivery outcomes of the projects under your control.

Key responsibilities

• Taking ownership of projects from contract handover through to completion and closeout
• Managing project programmes, critical paths, milestones and delivery priorities
• Managing client relationships and acting as a key commercial and contractual contact
• Owning project budgets, forecasting, cost-to-complete, margin protection, variations and claims
• Coordinating engineering, procurement, manufacturing, logistics and site delivery
• Managing project risk and identifying potential issues before they impact delivery
• Working closely with Site Managers, Site Engineers, Site Supervisors, subcontractors and suppliers
• Providing clear reporting across programme, financial performance, risk and delivery
• Driving recovery plans where projects move outside programme or commercial expectations
• Managing project completion, customer acceptance and commercial closeout

About you

• At least 5 years' project delivery experience, with responsibility for programme, customer, commercial and risk outcomes
• Experience managing substantial or multiple concurrent projects
• Demonstrated commercial capability across budgets, forecasting, variations, contracts and cost control
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering and project teams
• Excellent client and stakeholder management skills
• An understanding of procurement, manufacturing/fabrication and site delivery
• Experience managing subcontractors and suppliers
• Good planning, reporting, risk management and problem-solving capability
• A relevant engineering, construction, project management or related qualification, or equivalent industry experience
• Construction White Card and current driver's licence
