What they need
Keep a complex programme planned, visible and moving!
Toitū is on a journey to strengthen how we work, enhance the value we deliver to our customers, and ensure we're well positioned for future success.
As part of this journey, Future Fit is a transformative programme that will modernise our systems, improve our ways of working, and position Toitū for the future. We're looking for an experienced Project Manager who can bring structure, pace and clarity to a complex programme environment, ensuring multiple workstreams remain aligned, connected and moving forward.
Supporting the Executive Programme Lead, you'll manage the integrated programme plan, maintain delivery cadence, track dependencies, surface risks and keep work moving across multiple teams and partners. You'll help ensure priorities are clear, delivery is sequenced, capacity constraints are visible, and reporting gives senior leaders and governance groups the information they need to make timely decisions.
Working across business, technology, client, data, commercial and change teams, as well as external delivery partners, you'll play a central role in maintaining momentum, supporting accountability and turning strategic priorities into practical, measurable outcomes.
This role can be based in Auckland or Wellington.
What we're looking for
We're looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys bringing people together to achieve shared outcomes.
You'll bring:
- A minimum of 5-plus years' experience in project or programme delivery
- Experience managing complex, agile/hybrid interdependent projects or workstreams across multiple business functions
- Strong project planning, prioritisation, sequencing, dependency management and delivery tracking skills
- The ability to maintain an integrated programme plan covering priorities, milestones, dependencies, resourcing and delivery timeframes
- Experience establishing and maintaining practical delivery rhythms that support momentum, collaboration and timely resolution of barriers
- Confidence managing programme risks, issues, assumptions, actions and decisions, with clear escalation of material matters
- Strong governance reporting capability, including the ability to prepare concise, decision-ready updates for senior leaders, governance groups and the Board
- The ability to support alignment across stakeholders by making priorities, scope, trade-offs, responsibilities and dependencies clear
- Sound judgement when balancing scope, quality, risk and timeframes to support minimum viable outcomes, not simply completed outputs
- Experience coordinating internal specialists and external partners, ensuring responsibilities, requirements and timeframes are clear
- Confidence maintaining visibility of capacity and resource constraints that may affect delivery
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to maintain clear and accurate programme records
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Confidence working in environments where priorities evolve and ambiguity exists and decisions need to be made with imperfect information
- Commercial awareness and sound judgement when balancing risk, value and competing priorities
What will make you stand out:
- Experience supporting strategic transformation, change or business integration programmes
- Experience coordinating work across internal teams, external partners and senior stakeholders
- Experience working in compliance, assurance, certification, regulatory or other trust-based environments
- Experience preparing governance reporting for steering committees, executive leadership teams or boards
- Demonstrated success in managing programme cadence, including planning cycles, workshops, reviews and stakeholder forums; identifying risks, managing dependencies and resolving delivery challenges before they impact programme outcomes; creating clarity, alignment and momentum across multiple stakeholders and workstreams; and defining and tracking minimum viable outcomes, acceptance criteria and supporting evidence, with appropriate consideration of quality, compliance and client trust
- Strong capability using tools such as Monday.com, SharePoint and Excel to create visibility, manage actions, track progress and support clear reporting
