Project Manager - Interior Design

About the role

SKS Group is seeking a talented and organised Project Manager – Interior Design to join our dynamic team in Johor Bahru. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in overseeing the successful execution of interior design projects from conception through to completion. As a Project Manager in the interior design sector, you will be responsible for managing timelines, budgets, resources and client relationships, ensuring that every project meets our high standards of quality and creativity. This role is integral to delivering exceptional design solutions whilst maintaining operational efficiency across all project phases.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and oversee all aspects of interior design projects, from initial client briefing through to final handover
• Develop and manage comprehensive project schedules, budgets and resource allocation to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget
• Liaise with clients, architects, contractors, suppliers and other stakeholders to ensure clear communication and alignment on project objectives
• Monitor project progress, identify potential risks and implement corrective actions to keep projects on track
• Prepare and present project proposals, updates and final reports to clients and internal stakeholders
• Manage procurement processes, vendor relationships and quality control throughout the project lifecycle
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, building codes and industry standards on all projects
• Lead site inspections and coordinate with contractors to ensure design specifications are accurately implemented
• Maintain detailed project documentation and records for audit and reference purposes
• Support the design team by providing project management expertise and ensuring feasibility of design concepts

What we're looking for

• Proven experience in project management within the interior design, architecture or construction industry (minimum 3–5 years)
• Strong knowledge of interior design processes, materials, finishes and industry practices
• Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously
• Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage stakeholders at all levels
• Financial acumen with demonstrated experience in budget management and cost control
• Problem-solving mindset with the ability to make decisions under pressure
• Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations and industry compliance requirements
• Professional certification in project management (such as PMP or equivalent) is desirable
• Familiarity with design software (such as AutoCAD, SketchUp or similar) is advantageous
