Project Manager - Main Contractor - Donegal

The Role

An established main contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Project Manager to oversee the delivery of a number of residential projects across Donegal.

This is a broader role than managing a single site, with responsibility for multiple residential developments consisting of both housing and apartment schemes. The successful candidate will oversee the projects from a delivery perspective, working closely with individual site teams, subcontractors, consultants and senior management.

The role would suit an experienced Project Manager who is comfortable managing multiple projects at different stages and ensuring each development is progressing in line with programme, budget, quality and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the delivery of multiple residential projects across Donegal.
• Manage a mix of housing and apartment developments at various stages of construction.
• Work closely with Site Managers, Foremen, Engineers and commercial teams across each project.
• Monitor project programmes, key milestones and overall progress.
• Coordinate subcontractors, consultants and design teams.
• Ensure sufficient labour, subcontractor and material resources are in place across projects.
• Identify potential programme or delivery issues and address them before they impact key deadlines.
• Oversee quality standards and ensure works are completed in accordance with drawings and specifications.
• Maintain strong health & safety standards across all sites.
• Attend and lead regular project, progress and coordination meetings.
• Liaise with the commercial team regarding procurement, variations and project costs.
• Provide regular progress updates to senior management.
• Oversee projects through construction, completion and final handover.

Experience Required

• Previous experience as a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager with a main contractor.
• Strong residential construction experience, ideally across both houses and apartments.
• Experience overseeing multiple projects or large-scale residential developments would be advantageous.
• Strong understanding of construction programmes, sequencing and project delivery.
• Ability to manage and support several site teams simultaneously.
• Strong communication, leadership and organisational skills.
• Good commercial awareness and ability to work closely with QS and procurement teams.
• Relevant construction-related qualification is advantageous.
