Project Manager (Mainframe & Core Banking Upgrade)

We are looking for Project Manager (Mainframe & Core Banking Upgrade).

You will be involving…

Project Management & Delivery

• Lead and oversee the end-to-end delivery of two major upgrade initiatives:
• Mainframe Upgrade Project — coordinate hardware refresh, operating system migration, application compatibility assessments, and cutover planning.
• Core Banking System Upgrade Project — manage vendor coordination, release deployment, integration testing, and production rollout in collaboration with business and technology stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, resource allocation, milestones, dependencies, and deliverables.
• Define project governance structure, RACI matrix, and reporting cadence in alignment with organisational standards.
• Identify, assess, and actively manage project risks, issues, and dependencies across both projects.

Stakeholder & Vendor Management

• Serve as the central point of contact between business units, technology teams, vendors, and senior management.
• Coordinate with external vendors and service providers to ensure timely delivery of milestones and adherence to contractual obligations.
• Facilitate regular steering committee meetings, status reviews, and escalation processes.

Quality, Compliance & Documentation

• Ensure all project deliverables meet quality standards, regulatory requirements, and internal audit controls applicable to a banking environment.
• Maintain complete project documentation, including business cases, project charters, change requests, test plans, and post-implementation reviews.
• Oversee change management processes, including impact assessment, approval workflows, and rollback planning.

We are looking for…

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of project management experience, with at least 3 years in the banking or financial services sector.
• Proven experience managing mainframe migration/upgrade projects and core banking system implementations.
• PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with ITIL change management processes and banking regulatory compliance (e.g., HKMA guidelines).
