Project Manager / Project Engineer - Aluminium Windows & Doors

About the role

Charwildar Windows is a specialist aluminium window, door and façade contractor delivering commercial projects. We work with builders, consultants, façade engineers and overseas manufacturing facilities.

We are seeking a technically strong project professional to take ownership of aluminium window and door packages from project handover through design coordination, approvals, procurement, installation and completion.

We welcome applications from experienced Project Managers, Project Engineers and senior Technical Specialists who can demonstrate strong industry knowledge and the ability to lead project delivery.

You will need to understand the technical details, identify issues early, coordinate the right people and follow actions through to resolution.

Key Responsibilities

• Review architectural drawings, shop drawings, window schedules and specifications to identify technical gaps, scope discrepancies and coordination risks.
• Coordinate shop drawing submissions, RFIs, samples, technical documentation and consultant reviews, tracking outstanding comments and required approvals.
• Work with drafting teams, engineers and manufacturing facilities to resolve system details, glazing requirements, dimensions, tolerances, fixing interfaces and waterproofing details.
• Manage project milestones across approvals, procurement, manufacturing, deliveries and installation, addressing dependencies and escalating risks early.
• Coordinate builders, suppliers and subcontract installers; attend site meetings and inspections, resolve installation issues and follow through on QA and defects.
• Manage project correspondence and variation records, monitor costs and programme impacts, and provide clear reporting to management.

What We’re Looking For

• Relevant experience delivering commercial aluminium window, door, curtain wall or façade packages, with demonstrated knowledge of window and door systems.
• Strong ability to interpret drawings and specifications and assess whether details are practical to manufacture and install.
• Working knowledge of relevant NCC and Australian Standards requirements, and experience coordinating technical submissions and compliance evidence.
• Evidence of taking responsibility for project milestones, resolving issues and coordinating multiple stakeholders.
• Clear written and verbal communication with builders, consultants, factories and installation teams.
• Confidence using drawing review and project documentation tools. AutoCAD, Bluebeam or equivalent experience will be highly regarded.

Engineering, construction, drafting or trade qualifications are welcome. Demonstrated technical capability and project delivery experience will be central to our assessment.
