What they need
About us
Kiwi Solar is a New Zealand-owned solar farm developer, EPC contractor and asset owner-operator. We take projects from site selection and consenting through design, construction and long-term operation.
The role
We're looking for a practical, detail-oriented Project Manager to help us deliver a pipeline of grid-scale solar projects across New Zealand. Your primary focus will be an upcoming solar farm in Hawke's Bay. You'll also support projects across Waikato and Auckland.
This is a hands-on role. You'll be the person who keeps the programme on track, the contractors coordinated and the site running safely, working closely with management, the client, and the wider Kiwi Solar team.
What you'll be doing
· Managing projects day to day across construction and commissioning
· Building and maintaining project programmes, and tracking progress against them
· Coordinating contractors, suppliers and consultants, including mechanical, electrical, and MV subcontractors
· Managing project budgets, variations and cost reporting
· Keeping on top of consent conditions, compliance and contractual obligations
· Leading health and safety on site and making sure our standards are followed
· Reporting clearly on progress, risks and issues to the leadership team
What you'll bring
· Proven project management experience on construction projects, ideally greenfield or infrastructure work
· Experience in grid-scale solar is an advantage
· Solid understanding of construction contracts, programming and cost control
· A practical, organised approach and a good eye for detail
· Confidence working with subcontractors and clients
· Strong written and verbal communication
· A current NZ driver's licence and willingness to travel between regions
· Relevant qualifications (engineering, construction management or similar) are desirable
· The current right to work in New Zealand. We do not sponsor visa applications.
Employment details
· 40 hours per week
· Fixed term, 12 months, with potential to convert to permanent if the project pipeline continues
· Hawke's Bay-based candidates preferred, or those open to relocating/travelling.
