PROJECT MANAGER (SOLAR DIVISION)

Position: Project Manager – Solar
Department: Solar / Renewable Energy

Job Responsibilities

• Lead and manage solar PV projects from planning, execution, installation, testing and commissioning through project handover.
• Develop and monitor project schedules, manpower requirements, budgets and overall project progress.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and internal project teams.
• Manage site activities and ensure works are completed according to approved drawings, specifications, project requirements and timeline.
• Coordinate and oversee electrical works related to solar PV systems, including AC/DC systems, LV systems, cabling, switchboards and system integration.
• Review technical drawings, method statements, material submissions and other project documentation.
• Monitor subcontractor performance, site productivity, quality and project deliverables.
• Work closely with Engineering, QAQC and Safety teams to ensure project requirements and standards are met.
• Identify project risks, delays and technical issues and provide appropriate solutions and recovery plans.
• Attend client, consultant and project coordination meetings and provide regular progress updates to Management.
• Manage testing, commissioning, documentation and final project handover.
• Ensure compliance with applicable safety requirements, electrical standards and relevant Malaysian authorities/regulations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of project management / construction experience, preferably involving Solar PV, Renewable Energy, Electrical or M&E projects.
• Experience in Solar PV / Electrical projects is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems and ability to read electrical drawings, SLDs and technical specifications will be an advantage.
• Familiar with project planning, cost control, subcontractor management and site coordination.
• Good leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Able to manage multiple stakeholders and work independently in a fast-paced project environment.
• Willing to travel and work at project sites when required.

Preferred Experience

Candidates with hands-on experience in Solar PV EPC projects, commercial & industrial (C&I) solar, electrical infrastructure, testing & commissioning, or M&E project management will be given preference.
