Project Manager - Waste

Contract: 26 October 2026 - 28 February 2027

Location: Narangba, QLD (North Brisbane / Moreton Bay Region)

A leading local government organisation is seeking an experienced Project Manager to support the delivery of key Waste & Resource Recovery projects. This role has a strong focus on landfill operations, leachate management and environmental compliance, making it ideal for someone with demonstrated experience in the waste, environmental or utilities sectors.

This is a hands-on contract position where you'll manage projects from initiation through to completion, working closely with operational teams, contractors and technical stakeholders to deliver practical and compliant outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

• Manage landfill and waste infrastructure projects from planning through to delivery
• Lead projects focused on leachate management, environmental compliance and operational improvement initiatives
• Develop project plans, schedules, budgets and risk management strategies
• Manage procurement activities and contract administration
• Coordinate contractors, consultants and internal stakeholders
• Monitor project performance and provide regular reporting
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget
• Apply agile project management principles where appropriate

About You:

• Demonstrated experience managing landfill, waste, resource recovery or environmental infrastructure projects
• Strong understanding of leachate management systems and environmental compliance requirements
• Proven project management and contract management experience
• Experience managing contractors and external suppliers
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Experience working within local government or a highly regulated environment will be highly regarded
• Relevant qualifications in Engineering, Environmental Science, Project Management or a related discipline

Contract Details:

• 26 Oct 26 - to 28 February 27
• Competitive daily rate of $900 - $1,100 + Super
• 36.25-hour working week
• Monday to Friday schedule
