We are seeking a detail-oriented and forward-thinking Construction Project Planner to support a complex offshore pipeline project on a 12-month contract.
This role is focused on construction planning and execution support and requires someone who can proactively identify risks, evaluate critical path impacts, and provide actionable insight to the project team throughout the construction lifecycle.
The ideal candidate will have experience supporting major program-type projects and/or EPC projects with multiple interfaces, and preferably a background in offshore pipeline construction, including projects involving HDD, diving, and dredging. This individual should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, collaborating across disciplines, and supporting field operations through effective planning, progress tracking, and look-ahead coordination.
Responsibilities
- Develop, update, and maintain construction planning deliverables in Primavera P6.
- Support project execution through look-ahead planning, milestone tracking, and progress monitoring.
- Analyze project sequences, activity logic, constraints, and interface dependencies.
- Identify critical path and near-critical path activities, delays, and potential bottlenecks.
- Provide forward-looking planning support to help mitigate schedule risk and execution challenges.
- Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, engineers, subcontractors, and field personnel to align planning efforts with construction priorities.
- Review field progress and communicate potential impacts to the project timeline.
- Assist with recovery planning, variance analysis, and mitigation strategies when schedule risks arise.
- Support progress reporting, status updates, and planning-related project documentation.
- Highlight areas of concern during construction and recommend practical solutions to maintain project momentum.
- Coordinate planning activities across multiple work fronts and project interfaces.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Construction Planner, Project Planner, or similar role.
- Strong working knowledge of Primavera P6.
- Experience supporting EPC, industrial, marine, pipeline, or large capital projects over $1B.
- Preferred experience with offshore pipeline projects, including HDD, diving, and dredging scopes.
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, work packaging, logic ties, and interface management.
- Ability to identify risks early and communicate impacts clearly to stakeholders.
- Experience with progress tracking, forecasting, and critical path analysis.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional project team.
Preferred Attributes
- Experience in field planning, project controls, or execution planning.
- Exposure to multi-discipline construction environments.
- Familiarity with baseline schedules, updated schedules, and schedule recovery plans.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage changing priorities in a dynamic project setting.
