Project Planner

We are looking for a Project Planner that will support project and study teams with the development, maintenance and reporting of integrated project schedules across Mventech. The role requires someone who can translate project scope and deliverables into practical schedules, work closely with Project Managers and discipline leads, identify slippage and critical activities, and provide reliable planning information for project decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop project schedules from scope, work breakdown structures and deliverable requirements.
• Establish appropriate schedule logic, dependencies, milestones and critical paths.
• Maintain and regularly update project schedules.
• Coordinate schedule inputs from Project Managers, Engineers and discipline leads.
• Track actual progress against baseline plans.
• Identify schedule delays, constraints and emerging risks.
• Support development of recovery and mitigation plans where projects fall behind.
• Produce weekly and monthly schedule reports.
• Develop look-ahead schedules and milestone trackers.  Support resource planning and workload forecasting.
• Assist with tender and proposal schedules.
• Support new project mobilisation and baseline schedule development.
• Maintain schedule change records and approved revisions.
• Support project close-out and final schedule reporting.
• Contribute to improving planning standards, templates and processes across Mventech.

Minimum Requirements

• Relevant diploma or degree in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management or a related field.
• Approximately 4–7 years' project planning experience.
• Experience within mining, engineering, construction or EPCM environments.
• Experience developing and maintaining multidisciplinary project schedules.
• Previous exposure to studies, engineering projects or project execution will be advantageous.

Technical Skills

• Strong working knowledge of Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project.
• Understanding of work breakdown structures and schedule development.
• Critical path analysis.
• Progress measurement.
• Schedule forecasting.
• Resource loading and planning.
• Look-ahead planning.
• Project reporting.
• Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience with Power BI would be advantageous.

• Takes ownership of the schedule rather than simply updating dates.
• Challenges unrealistic durations and dependencies.
• Works closely with Project Managers and technical teams.
