Project Planning & Controls Engineer – Building Construction

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Project Planning & Controls Engineer to support the planning, scheduling, monitoring, and reporting of building construction projects in Dubai.

The successful candidate should have direct experience working within a construction/main contracting environment, with strong knowledge of project schedules, progress monitoring, delay analysis, and Primavera P6.

Key Responsibilities

* Develop and maintain detailed project programmes using Primavera P6.

* Prepare baseline schedules, revised programmes, recovery schedules, and look-ahead plans.

* Monitor actual progress against approved project schedules.

* Identify delays, critical activities, and potential risks affecting project completion.

* Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, dashboards, S-curves, and progress presentations.

* Coordinate with Project Managers, Construction Managers, engineers, procurement teams, subcontractors, and site teams.

* Monitor manpower, resources, procurement activities, and construction milestones.

* Support delay analysis, EOT assessments, and recovery planning.

* Update project schedules based on actual site progress and approved changes.

* Attend progress meetings and provide accurate planning information to management.

Requirements

* Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related construction discipline.

* Previous experience as a Planning Engineer / Project Controls Engineer in a construction or main contracting company.

* UAE construction experience is required.

* Experience in high-rise or multi-storey building projects is strongly preferred.

* Strong knowledge of Primavera P6.

* Experience with baseline programmes, recovery plans, critical path analysis, delay analysis, and progress reporting.

* Good knowledge of Excel and construction reporting tools.

* Ability to coordinate effectively with site and project teams.

* Candidates currently available in the UAE are preferred.
