Project Quality Engineer – Aftermarket APAC

About the Team:

The Aftermarket APAC Quality team is responsible for driving quality excellence and ensuring launch readiness across regional projects. The team works closely with Project Management, Engineering, Supplier Development, Supplier Quality and Operations Quality across APAC. In this role, you will help identify quality risks at an early stage and translate lessons learned into effective preventive actions. You will also regularly engage with project stakeholders based in Shanghai.

What you can look forward to as Project Quality Engineer – Aftermarket APAC (m/f/d):

• Lead project quality risk reviews based on project and change risk categories, considering VOC, lessons learned, product risks and market requirements.
• Define safe launch and launch control requirements, identify readiness gaps and escalate quality risks to support timely project decisions.
• Collaborate with SDE, SQA, Operations Quality, Project Management and Engineering on supplier readiness, PPAP status, First MP monitoring and launch quality topics.
• Translate customer, supplier, launch and field issues into preventive actions and drive lessons learned across similar products and projects.
• Ensure customer-specific, labeling, packaging and market requirements are considered and addressed before launch.
• Track project quality readiness, mitigation actions and launch risks, and provide regular status updates to management and project teams.

Your profile as Project Quality Engineer – Aftermarket APAC (m/f/d):

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Engineering, Quality Management or a related technical discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience in Quality, Project Quality or Supplier Quality within the automotive industry.
• Solid knowledge of quality tools and methodologies such as APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plan, 8D and 5 Why.
• Hands-on experience in launch readiness, supplier quality or production quality.
• Strong cross-functional coordination skills with Project Management, Engineering, SDE, SQA and Operations teams.
• Strong capability in quality risk assessment, problem solving and influencing stakeholders without direct authority.
• Structured communication, proactive prevention mindset and strong customer and business orientation.
• Good English communication skills and ability to work effectively in an APAC cross-cultural environment.
