The Role Due to internal promotion, we are seeking an experienced and driven Quantity Surveyor who wants more than just another role; someone who wants to make a real impact on high-profile projects while growing their career in a supportive, forward-thinking environment.

Based at our project site in Guyana, you'll be at the heart of our project delivery, shaping commercial success from tender stage through to completion. Working closely with our Project Director, engineers, and clients, you'll have the autonomy to influence decisions, manage costs effectively, and drive value across every stage.

Key Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to discuss project requirements
• Participate in feasibility studies, site surveys, and estimations
• Assist in preparation of contract documents
• Generate BOQs from available drawings
• Prepare RFQ packages and distribute to potential subcontractors
• Assist in preparation and review contract documents with subcontractors
• Allocate and review the subcontractor's progress
• Assist project director in identifying commercial risks and develop proper solutions
• Analyse the project's activities costs and report variances with planned
• Maintain records of lost time for time extension preparation
• Prepare cost reports
• Prepare and submit Payment Applications and Claims and invoices to the client and follow up till approvals are granted
• Administer subcontractor's valuations and confirm their IPCs
• Liaise with the client, client representatives, and other third parties on commercial issues, including agreement of variations, claims, and additional payments
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports and submit them in a timely manner
• Help ensure that internal commercial processes are adhered to across the project team
• Actively seek to improve processes and procedures
• Hold a good understanding of the processes and procedures used
• Abide with the company's procedures and policies
• Able to lead a team and support a positive work environment
• Able to teach and train staff to increase competency and level of knowledge

Essential Criteria Your Experience & Skills

• Third level qualification in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying or equivalent
• Proven experience in the building/construction industry
• Familiar with FIDIC conditions of contract or other international forms of contracts

Desirable Criteria

• Membership or working towards Chartered Membership of Recognised Professional Body
