Project Scheduler

The Project Scheduler will support IT equipment upgrade and alteration projects across multiple Los Angeles-area school locations. This role will develop, maintain, and analyze schedules for network, phone, public address, LAN, WLAN, intrusion alarm, and camera/video systems. The ideal candidate has strong experience using Microsoft Project or Primavera P6, applying project management techniques, and identifying potential scheduling risks. This is a 100% onsite position requiring reliable transportation and the ability to pass a LiveScan background check.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and update program schedules for IT equipment upgrade and alteration projects for networks, phones, public address (PA), local area network (LAN), wireless local area networks (WLAN), intrusion alarm (IA) and camera/video systems.
• Utilize project management techniques such as earned value analysis to determine if ITS projects are on schedule and within established budgets.
• Consult with administrators to determine key project milestones and develop appropriate schedules.
• Identify potential project scheduling issues and recommend alternative solutions to prevent delays.
• Apply quality assurance and quality control processes to program schedules to prevent potential problems.
• Review construction contract documents and determine if pricing and timelines meet the approved project schedule.
• Create What If scenarios to show how possible time and cost changes will impact the project schedules over the course of several years and multiple project phases.
• Attend schedule negotiation meetings and other project related meetings at District offices and school sites, and follow up with project staff for updates on work schedules.
• Prepare clear and concise reports for managers and administrators and provide project schedule updates as necessary.
• Utilize project management software to develop and share schedules with ITS staff.
• Must have strong experience scheduling projects in Microsoft Project.

Qualifications

Required:

• Strong experience scheduling projects in Microsoft Project or Primavera P6.
• Experience creating and updating schedules for IT equipment upgrade and alteration projects.
• Experience applying earned value analysis and other project management techniques.
• Experience identifying project scheduling issues and recommending alternative solutions.
• Experience applying quality assurance and quality control processes to program schedules.
• Experience reviewing construction contract documents, pricing, and project timelines.
• Experience creating What If scenarios involving time and cost changes across multiple project phases.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must be able to pass a LiveScan background check.
• Must provide 3 references in order to submit. References must include full contact information, including name, title, phone, email, and details about how the candidate worked with each reference.

Preferred (Optional):

• Experience supporting network, phone, public address (PA), LAN, WLAN, intrusion alarm (IA), or camera/video system projects.
• Experience attending schedule negotiation meetings at administrative offices and school sites.
• Experience preparing reports and schedule updates for managers and administrators.

Additional Details

The base range for this contract position is $55 - $65 / per hour, depending on experience. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires of this position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Qualified applicants with arrest or conviction records will be considered.
