Project /Site Manager HVAC

About the role

We are on the hunt for an experienced HVAC Project / Site Manager to oversee the delivery of a major commercial mechanical and HVAC project in South Australia. This is a hands-on leadership position requiring someone who can manage both project delivery and day-to-day site operations. You will coordinate trades and subcontractors, manage construction programs, monitor quality and safety, resolve site issues and ensure HVAC and mechanical works are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with project specifications and deadlines.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day delivery of commercial HVAC and mechanical works
• Coordinate HVAC trades, duct installers, mechanical plumbers and subcontractors
• Manage site labour, resources and workflow
• Review and interpret mechanical drawings, plans and specifications
• Coordinate ductwork, mechanical pipework, equipment and associated HVAC installations
• Manage project schedules, milestones and construction programs
• Monitor progress against project deadlines and budgets
• Coordinate materials, plant, equipment and supplier deliveries
• Attend site, client and construction coordination meetings
• Liaise with builders, consultants, engineers, clients and other trades

Site & Team Management

• Supervise and coordinate site personnel and subcontractors
• Allocate labour and resources to achieve project milestones
• Conduct and participate in pre-starts, toolbox talks and site meetings
• Monitor productivity, workmanship and installation quality
• Ensure trades work to current approved drawings and specifications
• Coordinate with other construction trades to minimise delays and clashes
• Manage site access, deliveries, equipment and work areas
• Maintain professional relationships with principal contractors, clients and project stakeholders

WHS & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with WHS legislation and project-specific safety requirements
• Ensure SWMS and required site documentation are current and followed
• Identify hazards and implement appropriate controls
• Ensure workers and subcontractors hold required licences, tickets and inductions
• Maintain high standards of site safety and compliance
• Report and manage incidents, hazards and corrective actions
• Promote a strong safety culture across the project

About you

• Be an Australian Citizen
• Hold a current Australian Federal Police (AFP) National Police Check
• Hold a current Construction Industry White Card
• Hold a current Australian driver's licence
• Have demonstrated commercial HVAC/mechanical project or site management experience
• Have the ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications and construction documentation
• Be able to satisfy all project-specific security, induction and site-access requirements
• Previous experience as an HVAC Project Manager, HVAC Site Manager, Mechanical Services Project Manager, Mechanical Site Manager, HVAC Site Supervisor, or Mechanical Services Supervisor
• Relevant qualifications or trade experience within HVAC, mechanical services, refrigeration, mechanical plumbing, sheet metal or commercial construction
• Strong leadership skills, commercial awareness and the ability to coordinate multiple trades and stakeholders within a demanding construction environment
