We're supporting a highly successful, well-established FMCG manufacturing business, with process and packaging, as they create a brand-new engineering position to support site investment, up to £1M CAPEX, continuous improvement, and the delivery of exciting automation projects. This role would suit an experienced Project Technician, Project Engineer, CAPEX Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer from PE Lifecyle or Continuous Improvement Engineer looking for a long-term opportunity within a people-focused manufacturing environment. You can come from a technician background, mechanical, electrical, or chemical education and experience, if you are Projects skill set.

The Opportunity Project Technician / Project Engineer – CAPEX

• You'll support the delivery of engineering projects across a busy manufacturing operation, taking ownership of CAPEX activities from concept through to completion.
• Projects will range from production improvements and equipment upgrades through to larger automation initiatives designed to remove manual activities, improve efficiency across manufacturing and packaging
• With approximately €1M of approved annual capital investment and a significant automation strategy planned over the coming years, this is an opportunity to make a genuine impact rather than simply maintain existing assets. Automation of manual packaging processes forms part of the site's future engineering roadmap.

Responsibilities Project Technician / Project Engineer – CAPEX

• Manage CAPEX projects from concept through commissioning
• Develop specifications and business cases
• Support equipment procurement and supplier selection
• Manage contractors and installation activities
• Ensure projects are delivered safely on time and within budget
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives
• Support automation and productivity improvements
• Work closely with production, quality, and technical teams
• Ensure engineering compliance and governance standards are maintained

Your Background Project Technician / Project Engineer – CAPEX

• Experience delivering CAPEX projects within manufacturing
• Strong project lifecycle experience
• Contractor management experience
• Budget responsibility
• Stakeholder management skills
• A practical engineering mindset
• Experience within FMCG, food, beverage, pharmaceutical, packaging, or high-volume manufacturing environments

Candidates with both hands-on engineering experience and project delivery experience are particularly encouraged to apply.
