Ventilation/Project Engineer – Underground

• 8/6 Residential roster | 12 hour Days | 10-minute commute from town to site

We have an exciting opportunity for a Mining Engineer to join our high-performing Technical Services team at our KCGM Fimiston Underground Operations. What you can look forward to:

• Developing and maintaining ventilation designs and Ventsim models to support safe underground operations and future mine activities.
• Conducting primary and secondary ventilation surveys, assessing airflow/pressure readings/gas levels/temperatures and identifying opportunities to improve ventilation performance.
• Preparing and updating ventilation level plans, work instructions and improvement notices, with clear communication to operational teams.
• Supporting the implementation of the Ventilation Control Plan, maintaining accurate records and tracking corrective actions.
• Planning and coordinating ventilation infrastructure works, including fan installations, duct layouts and ventilation control devices.
• Developing scopes of work, schedules and cost estimates for underground infrastructure and improvement projects.
• Coordinating contractors and site teams to deliver project works safely, efficiently and in line with operational priorities.
• Monitoring project progress, costs and quality, resolving issues and coordinating commissioning.
• Supporting production-relevant plans and QA/QC activities to achieve safe, accurate and efficient production outcomes.

Where you will add value:

• Practical experience in a mechanised hard-rock underground mine, ideally across ventilation, infrastructure projects and production.
• Experience using Ventsim and Deswik to develop ventilation models, interpret mine designs and prepare practical plans.
• Strong coordination skills, with the ability to manage contractors, competing priorities, project schedules and costs.
• Effective communication and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to working with technical and operational teams.
• Knowledge of relevant work health and safety legislation and underground ventilation requirements; recognised ventilation training and a current first aid qualification are desirable.

Qualifications:

• Tertiary Qualifications in Mining Engineering.
• Current "C" Class Western Australian Driver’s Licence (Manual).
