Role & responsibilities :

Proofpoint Administration & Support

• Manage and maintain Proofpoint Email Protection (PEP), Targeted Attack Protection (TAP), and Email Fraud Defense (EFD) platforms.
• Configure and administer email security policies, spam filtering, malware protection, and content filtering.
• Monitor email traffic and security alerts generated by Proofpoint solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve email delivery, quarantine, and filtering issues.
• Manage allow/block lists, secure email relay, and encryption policies.
• Manage email relay via MX and Proof point SER product.

M365 Exchange online

• Manage/optimize mail flow over Exchange online.
• Troubleshooting email allow/block between Exchange online and Proofpoint solutions
• Managing DLs / DDLs

Security Operations

• Investigate phishing, spoofing, malware, and business email compromise (BEC) incidents.
• Analyze TAP alerts and threat intelligence reports.
• Coordinate incident response activities related to email security threats.
• Support threat hunting and forensic investigations involving email-based attacks.

Email Authentication & Protection

• Implement and maintain:

• SPF (Sender Policy Framework)

• DKIM (DomainKeys Identified Mail)

• DMARC (Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting & Conformance)

• Support Email Fraud Defense implementations and monitoring.

• Ensure compliance with industry security standards and best practices.

Integration & Infrastructure

• Integrate Proofpoint with:

• Microsoft 365

• Exchange Online

• SIEM solutions (Kibana)

• Configure connectors, mail routing, journaling, and email gateway settings.

• Support hybrid messaging environments.

Reporting & Compliance

• Generate security reports and executive dashboards.
• Monitor email security trends and recommend improvements.
• Support audit, compliance, and governance requirements.
• Document configurations, SOPs, and operational procedures.

Project & Technical Leadership

• Lead Proofpoint migration and upgrade projects.
• Perform Proofpoint health assessments and optimization reviews.
• Provide technical guidance to operations and security teams.
• Develop automation scripts for reporting and remediation activities.

Required Skills

• Strong experience with:

• Proofpoint Email Protection (PEP)

• Targeted Attack Protection (TAP)

• Email Fraud Defense (EFD)

• Proofpoint Essentials (preferred)

• Expertise in:

• SMTP mail flow

• Exchange Online / Microsoft 365

• Exchange Server

• SPF, DKIM, DMARC

• Email encryption and DLP

• Experience with SIEM integration and security monitoring.

• Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and email threat mitigation.
