Proofreader

Bond Consulting Group works with businesses across a range of industries, including science, technology, engineering, and medicine, managing the SR&ED claim process on their behalf. We are looking for a talented Technical Proofreader to join our team. The ideal candidate will have exceptional proofreading and editing skills, a strong command of English grammar and style, and the ability to review complex technical documents for accuracy, clarity, consistency, and compliance with established guidelines.

Position Overview/Summary

• Job Type: Permanent, Full time
• Years of Experience: 2-4 years
• Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in English and/or Journalism or equivalent.
• Schedule: Monday to Friday
• Work location: BCG Office (920 The East Mall, Etobicoke). Relocating to south/east Mississauga in November 2026.
• Earning Potential: $55,000 – $60,000 per year, plus additional incentives.
• Start Date: As soon as possible.
• Alternative arrangement: We are also open to considering a contractor/freelancer agreement for the right candidate, with compensation and terms to be discussed based on the scope of work and experience.

Job Specifications/Key Responsibilities:

• Proofread and edit technical and scientific documents prepared for SR&ED tax claims, as well as internal documents, legal materials, marketing content, presentations, and training materials.
• Review written content for grammar, spelling, punctuation, clarity, consistency, and overall readability.
• Ensure documents meet established formatting and presentation standards, including page layout, spacing, text alignment, and image placement.
• Provide constructive feedback to Analysts to clarify wording, improve sentence structure, and maintain consistency in style and terminology.
• Use Microsoft Word, Track Changes, and other relevant software to review, edit, and finalize documents.
• Maintain a high standard of accuracy and quality across all written materials.
• Adhere to proofreader style guide, templates and terminology standards.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet tight deadlines.
• Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in English, Journalism, Communications or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of proofreading or editing experience required.
• Excellent command of written English, with strong grammar, editing, and proofreading skills.
• Strong technical and creative writing abilities, with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and accurately.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a genuine passion for language and written communication.
• Proven experience in proofreading, editing, or professional writing.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, including Track Changes, is required.
• Experience reviewing science, technology, engineering, medicine, legal, or professional business documents is an asset.
