Property Accountant

About the role

The Property Accountant is responsible for the accurate and timely recording, monitoring, and reporting of the condominium corporation's financial transactions. The role ensures proper billing and collection of association dues, management of payables, maintenance of accounting records, preparation of financial reports, and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain complete and accurate accounting records of the condominium corporation
• Prepare monthly financial statements, schedules, and management reports
• Monitor and reconcile bank accounts, general ledger accounts, and subsidiary ledgers
• Ensure timely month-end and year-end closing of accounts
• Oversee the billing of association dues, utilities, penalties, and other charges
• Monitor accounts receivable aging and coordinate collection efforts with the Property Management Team
• Review and process payments to suppliers, contractors, and service providers
• Verify supporting documents and ensure compliance with approval processes
• Monitor cash flow and maintain accurate records of disbursements
• Assist in the preparation and monitoring of annual operating budgets

About you

• Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, Accounting Technology, Finance, or a related field
• At least 2-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in property management, real estate, or condominium operations
• Knowledge of bookkeeping, financial reporting, accounts receivable, and accounts payable processes
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Detail-oriented with good communication and stakeholder management skills
• CPA (Required)
