Property Maintenance Technician (5 yrs. exp.)

Cornell Property Management Corp. manages multifamily apartment communities across Delaware and Maryland. We're looking for a reliable, self-directed Maintenance Technician who takes pride in keeping homes safe, clean, and well cared for.

What You'll Do

• Complete maintenance and repairs in apartment homes independently, working under the direction of the Property Manager
• Turn vacant units quickly and to company standards so they're ready for new residents
• Conduct weekly inspections of buildings, grounds, and common areas, document findings on the inspection form, and review deficiencies with the Property Manager
• Identify preventive maintenance needs and recommend solutions before small issues become costly repairs
• Immediately report vandalism, property damage, and unusual conditions
• Record all work accurately in the work order system
• Maintain grounds: daily trash pickup, sidewalk cleaning, mowing, edging, and trimming around buildings, trees, and landscaping
• Perform snow and ice removal as needed
• Keep common areas and laundry rooms clean, including regular cleaning of washers and dryers
• Move and install appliances for transfers, removals, and replacements
• Participate in the after-hours emergency on-call rotation
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Property Manager or Corporate Office

What You Need

• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for property-related errands
• Your own basic hand tools
• Comfort operating power equipment, including mowers, trimmers, and snow blowers
• Ability to communicate clearly, verbally and in writing, with residents and staff
• 5 years of maintenance experience in apartments or a related field (required)

Nice to Have

• EPA Section 608 certification (HVAC/refrigerant)

Base Pay: From $23.00 per hour
