Position Overview
We are seeking an organized, personable Property Management Lead to support the day-to-day performance of our multifamily portfolio. Based in the corporate office, this role serves as a key resource for Community Managers, monitors property activity, and helps teams resolve operational issues and follow through on priorities.
The Property Management Lead works closely with community teams, maintenance, leasing, accounting, and company leadership. Success requires strong property management judgment, clear communication, dependable follow-through, and the ability to build productive relationships across the portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Community Manager Support
- Serve as a primary resource for Community Managers on routine operational questions, priorities, and property-level challenges.
- Coach managers on established procedures, reporting expectations, resident service, and consistent use of property management systems.
- Help managers develop and track practical action plans for occupancy, leasing, renewals, collections, unit turns, and resident concerns.
- Visit communities as needed to understand conditions, support teams, and follow up on operational priorities.
Portfolio Performance and Follow-Through
- Review recurring property reports, including rent rolls, leasing activity, delinquency, vacancies, work orders, and unit turns; identify trends and items needing attention.
- Prepare concise portfolio updates for leadership, including progress, open issues, recommended next steps, and decisions needed.
- Coordinate follow-up on deadlines, property visits, inspections, lease-ups, transitions, and special projects.
- Partner with accounting and community teams to research discrepancies and support timely, accurate reporting.
Cross- Functional Coordination and Processes
- Keep communication moving among Community Managers, leasing, maintenance, accounting, vendors, and leadership to resolve routine operational issues.
- Support consistent use of Yardi Voyager, property files, checklists, and established procedures; identify process gaps and recommend improvements.
- Gather facts and propose solutions for complex resident, vendor, staffing, or property issues; elevate decisions requiring leadership approval.
Qualifications
- Experience in multifamily property management, leasing, or community operations; experience supporting more than one community preferred.
- Working knowledge of leasing, occupancy, resident communications, collections, maintenance coordination, unit turns, and property reporting.
- Experience with Yardi Voyager strongly preferred; confidence with spreadsheets and the ability to learn new systems required.
- Ability to interpret property reports, spot trends or discrepancies, and turn findings into clear follow-up steps.
- Strong organization, sound judgment, attention to detail, and ability to manage competing priorities across multiple communities.
- Professional, collaborative communication style and ability to coach and build trust with Community Managers and cross-functional partners.
- Ability to visit properties in the portfolio as needed.
What Success Looks Like
Community Managers receive timely guidance and know where to turn for support. Property issues are identified early, action items are completed, reports are accurate, and leadership has a clear view of portfolio priorities and progress.
Growth Opportunity
This position offers broad exposure to portfolio operations and the opportunity to take on greater responsibility as the portfolio grows and the employee demonstrates readiness.
