Company Description
Anchor Realty Inc. is a family-owned real estate firm that has been serving the San Francisco Bay Area since 1945. Founded on a commitment to integrity, hands-on service, and long-term relationships, Anchor Realty specializes in property management, leasing, and residential and commercial sales throughout San Francisco and the Peninsula.
As a boutique firm, we pride ourselves on delivering a high-touch, service-oriented experience for property owners, tenants, and clients alike. Our team combines decades of local market knowledge with a proactive and solution-driven approach to real estate, helping clients navigate opportunities and challenges with professionalism, responsiveness, and care.
About the Role:
We're seeking a Property Manager with strong project management skills to join our team. This role focuses on coordinating property maintenance, repairs, and capital improvements from initial assessment through completion, including obtaining vendor estimates, securing owner approval, scheduling work, and verifying satisfactory completion. The Property Manager will work closely with our Maintenance Coordinator to ensure projects and maintenance needs are properly addressed, prioritized, and scheduled.
The ideal candidate is reliable, organized, and able to work well under pressure while managing multiple projects concurrently. Consistent follow-through is essential: this person must track deadlines, anticipate obstacles, resolve outstanding items, and ensure every project moves forward in a timely manner. Clear communication with our team and property owners is a central responsibility.
We're looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities, takes initiative, and follows through on commitments. Success in this role requires flexibility, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to take on additional responsibilities as property and team needs evolve. The ideal candidate responds constructively to new assignments, goes beyond routine duties when needed, and demonstrates that commitment through dependable action and timely results. This position offers opportunities for advancement for individuals who consistently demonstrate outstanding performance.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Manage multiple maintenance, repair, and capital improvement projects from start to finish, maintaining accountability for deadlines and completion.
- Work closely with the Maintenance Coordinator to ensure projects and maintenance needs are properly addressed, prioritized, and scheduled.
- Inspect properties to identify required work and establish project priorities.
- Obtain vendor estimates, clarify scopes of work, and secure owner approval before proceeding.
- Schedule approved work, coordinate access with vendors and tenants, and monitor progress.
- Follow up consistently with vendors, address delays promptly, and bring unresolved issues to the team's attention.
- Keep the internal team and property owners informed of project status, scheduling changes, and matters requiring additional approval.
- Verify satisfactory completion, resolve remaining items, and review invoices against approved proposals and completed work.
- Maintain accurate project records and coordinate required inspections and related follow-up work.
- Take on additional assignments and responsibilities as property needs and team priorities evolve.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with property owners and clients through regular phone conversations, in-person interactions, and clear written communication, reflecting the company’s core values of integrity, hands-on service, and long-term relationships.
- Remain on call and respond to emergency maintenance calls during evenings and weekends as needed, coordinating the appropriate response and follow-up.
Qualities We're Looking For:
- Reliable and accountable, with consistent follow-through
- Ability to thrive under pressure, manage shifting priorities, and take on evolving responsibilities with a positive, solutions-oriented approach
- Strong initiative and a willingness to go the extra mile, recognizing what needs attention and taking action without being asked, with reliable follow-through on both routine duties and additional assignments
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently without overlooking deadlines or details
- Proactive problem-solving and sound judgment
- Clear, timely communication with colleagues, property owners, and vendors
- Coachable, collaborative, and committed to quality work
Ideal Candidates Will Have:
- Previous property management experience with a strong focus on maintenance and project coordination
- Demonstrated success managing multiple projects from initial planning through timely completion
- Experience obtaining estimates, coordinating vendors, and overseeing repairs and capital improvements
- Familiarity with San Francisco property management practices and applicable local and state requirements
