Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Proposal & Estimation Engineer – Mechanical Works to join our team in Sharjah, UAE.

The ideal candidate must have strong experience in preparing BOQs, cost estimates, and commercial quotations for mechanical construction projects, particularly metallic and non-metallic piping systems, structural steel works, equipment erection, tank repairs, and welding activities.

Hands-on experience in preparing quotations for both metallic and non-metallic piping works is mandatory.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQs), quantity take-offs, cost estimates, and commercial quotations for mechanical works.
• Review client RFQs, tender documents, engineering drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
• Prepare quotations for metallic and non-metallic piping systems, including:
• Carbon Steel (CS)
• Stainless Steel (SS)
• Super Duplex Stainless Steel (SDSS)
• GRE / GRP and other non-metallic piping systems
• Estimate costs for piping fabrication, installation, erection, testing, and welding works.
• Prepare quotations for structural steel fabrication and erection.
• Estimate mechanical equipment installation and erection activities.
• Prepare cost estimates for tank repairs, modifications, and maintenance works.
• Calculate material quantities, manpower requirements, equipment costs, and project execution expenses.
• Evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations for technical and commercial compliance.
• Prepare quotation comparisons, detailed cost breakdowns, and competitive pricing proposals.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineering teams, procurement departments, and suppliers to ensure accurate estimates.
• Ensure all quotations comply with client specifications and project requirements.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Proven experience as a Mechanical Estimation Engineer, Quotation Engineer, or Proposal & Estimation Engineer.
• Mandatory experience in preparing BOQs and quotations for both metallic and non-metallic piping works.
• Strong technical knowledge of CS, SS, SDSS, GRE/GRP piping systems, fabrication, and welding activities.
• Experience estimating structural steel works, mechanical equipment erection, and tank repairs.
• Ability to independently review RFQs, prepare BOQs, calculate costs, and submit complete technical and commercial quotations.
• Good understanding of mechanical construction drawings, isometric drawings, P&IDs, and technical specifications.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, AutoCAD, and estimation software.
• GCC experience is mandatory; UAE project experience is preferred.
• Good English communication, coordination, and analytical skills.
