Job Summary

We are looking for a technically skilled and detail-oriented Proposal Engineer with experience in water and wastewater treatment projects, including Water Treatment Plants (WTP), Sewage Treatment Plants (STP), Effluent Treatment Plants (ETP), Reverse Osmosis (RO), Ultrafiltration (UF), and desalination systems.

The candidate will be responsible for preparing technical and commercial proposals, reviewing customer enquiries, understanding project requirements, conducting equipment sizing and cost estimations, and coordinating with engineering, procurement, sales, and project execution teams.

The ideal candidate should have a good understanding of water treatment technologies, process equipment, tendering, costing, and technical documentation.

Key Responsibilities

1. Technical Proposal Preparation

• Review customer enquiries, tender documents, technical specifications, and project requirements.
• Prepare technical and commercial proposals for WTP, STP, ETP, RO, UF, MBR, and desalination projects.
• Develop preliminary process schemes, equipment lists, and technical specifications.
• Prepare technical datasheets, Bill of Quantities (BOQ), and Bill of Materials (BOM).
• Coordinate the preparation of Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and preliminary plant layouts.
• Prepare technical clarifications, deviations, and compliance statements based on tender requirements.

2. Cost Estimation & Commercial Proposals

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for water and wastewater treatment systems.
• Estimate costs for pumps, blowers, filters, membranes, pressure vessels, tanks, piping, valves, instrumentation, and other equipment.
• Obtain and evaluate quotations from vendors and suppliers.
• Prepare cost sheets, pricing summaries, and commercial offers.
• Coordinate with procurement and engineering teams to optimise project costs.
• Support commercial negotiations and proposal revisions.

3. Tendering & Bid Management

• Analyse RFQs, RFPs, tender documents, and client specifications.
• Prepare tender submissions in accordance with customer requirements.
• Ensure timely submission of technical and commercial bids.
• Maintain tender documentation, proposal records, and bid trackers.
• Prepare responses to technical queries and clarifications from clients and consultants.
• Support the sales team during technical discussions and pre-bid meetings.

4. Process & Equipment Engineering

• Assist in preliminary equipment sizing and selection for water treatment systems.
• Understand treatment processes such as clarification, filtration, biological treatment, membrane filtration, RO, UF, and chemical dosing.
• Review process design inputs, hydraulic requirements, and equipment specifications.
• Coordinate with process, mechanical, piping, electrical, and instrumentation teams.
• Ensure proposed equipment and systems comply with technical specifications and project requirements.

5. Engineering & Sales Coordination

• Coordinate with sales, engineering, procurement, and project execution teams.
• Liaise with vendors and suppliers for technical quotations and equipment specifications.
• Support technical presentations and discussions with customers.
• Assist in proposal handover to the project execution team after order confirmation.
• Maintain accurate proposal documentation and revision records.

Required Skills

• Good understanding of water and wastewater treatment processes.
• Experience in preparing technical and commercial proposals.
• Knowledge of WTP, STP, ETP, RO, UF, and membrane treatment technologies.
• Experience in BOQ, BOM, equipment costing, and project estimation.
• Ability to read and interpret PFDs, P&IDs, GA drawings, and technical specifications.
• Knowledge of pumps, blowers, filters, membranes, piping, valves, and instrumentation.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD will be an added advantage.
• Strong analytical, communication, and coordination skills.
• Ability to manage multiple proposals and meet tender deadlines.

Educational Qualifications

• B.E. / B.Tech in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Diploma holders with relevant water treatment proposal experience may also be considered.

Experience Requirements

• 2–5 years of experience in technical proposals, tendering, estimation, or application engineering.
• Relevant experience in water treatment, wastewater treatment, environmental engineering, or EPC projects.
• Hands-on experience in technical bid preparation, equipment costing, and commercial proposals is preferred.
• Candidates from water treatment equipment manufacturers, environmental engineering companies, and EPC contractors will be preferred.

Preferred Candidate Profile

We are looking for a technically competent Proposal Engineer who can independently review enquiries, prepare technical and commercial offers, coordinate with vendors, and support the sales team in securing projects.

The candidate should have practical knowledge of water and wastewater treatment technologies, equipment selection, proposal preparation, and project costing.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
