Proposal Engineer (ELV, Telecom & Security Systems)

About the role

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Proposal Engineer specializing in Extra Low Voltage (ELV), Telecommunications, and Security Systems. In this role, you will lead the end-to-end bidding process—from analyzing client inquiries and designing technical proposals to preparing cost estimations and resolving client clarifications. You will bridge the gap between design engineering and commercial execution to secure new project wins.

Key responsibilities

• Review tender documents, drawings, and specifications (RFP/RFQ) to understand client requirements for ELV, Telecom, and Security packages
• Formulate optimized system architectures, block diagrams, and technical write-ups for systems including CCTV, Access Control, Public Address (PA/GA), Fire Alarm, Structured Cabling, LAN/WAN, and Intercoms
• Prepare detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and cost sheets. Source, evaluate, and negotiate competitive pricing from vendors and OEMs
• Authoritatively address and resolve pre-bid technical queries and post-submission clarifications raised by clients, consultants, or main contractors
• Conduct mandatory pre-bid site visits to assess existing infrastructure, verify physical layouts, and identify installation challenges to ensure highly accurate technical and commercial proposals
• Identify technical or commercial risks in tender clauses and ensure compliance with local regulations and international standards

About you

• Bachelor's Degree in Electronics, Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline
• 1-3 years of proven experience in estimation, tendering, or design of ELV/Telecom/Security systems
• Strong familiarity with major industry brands and systems (e.g., IP CCTV, ACS, fiber optics, network switches, PA systems)
• Proficiency in MS Excel (advanced costing models) and AutoCAD (for reviewing/modifying layouts)
• Strong technical writing skills, a sharp eye for commercial detail, and the ability to work under tight tender deadlines
