Proposals & Estimation Manager

We are looking for a results-driven Proposals & Estimation Manager to lead technical and commercial proposals for PLC-based control panel and automation systems. The candidate should have strong experience in estimation, tendering, vendor coordination and techno-commercial bid preparation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead estimation and proposal activities for MCC, PCC, PLC and RTU panels.
• Manage the complete proposal cycle, including EOI review, tender study, technical compliance, BOQ/BOM preparation and commercial finalization.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates covering hardware, panel fabrication, engineering man-hours, FAT/SAT and logistics.
• Coordinate with automation OEMs and vendors for component pricing, lead times and technical datasheets.
• Coordinate with client procurement and engineering teams to clarify technical queries (TQs) and project requirements.
• Prepare techno-commercial bids, cost comparisons, margin analysis and commercial offers.
• Negotiate with vendors and sub-contractors to achieve competitive pricing while maintaining quality and compliance.
• Support tender activities including prequalification, RFQ/RFP responses, commercial negotiations and handover to execution.
• Mentor junior estimators and improve BOQ, costing and estimation processes.

Key Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of PLC-based automation and control panel systems.
• Experience with automation platforms such as Siemens, Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, Honeywell, Schneider Electric, ABB and Mitsubishi.
• Strong understanding of BOQ/BOM, cost estimation, vendor RFQs and margin analysis.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP/Oracle.
• Strong communication, negotiation, analytical and coordination skills.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation or a related engineering field.
• 10+ years of relevant experience in proposals and estimation for PLC panels, automation and control systems.
• Middle East experience is preferred but not mandatory.
