Job Title: Propulsion Test Engineer

Location: Orange County, California – Onsite

Compensation : $140,000-$180,000 per annum

Hours: Monday to Friday - flexible hours

The Client:

Lumicity has partnered with an early-stage, growing Defense & Aerospace company based in Orange County, California on their search for a Propulsion Test Engineer to join their team. This client is in the early stages of their development and is seeking a hands-on engineer who can take ownership of the testing stage of gas turbines and, more specifically, their engines.

The Responsibilities:

• Take ownership of the testing of propulsion-based systems, rotating machinery, gas turbines, fluid systems, and engines
• Design and maintain test stands, test rigs, combustion testing rigs, and fluid systems
• Execute testing activities, collecting and analyzing data to assist with the troubleshooting of system issues
• Develop engineering documentation and testing procedures
• Assist with the analysis of these systems, including structural, vibration, and thermal analysis

The Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar field
• 4+ years' experience within high-speed rotating machinery or propulsion testing, preferably turbines, engines, propulsion and/or combustion systems
• Previous experience designing test and combustion rigs, stands, and testing activities
• Proficient in a variety of CAD software (SolidWorks, NX, Fusion360 etc)
• Previous experience working within a startup environment is highly advantageous
• US Citizen
