PROTEGE ENGINEER

About the role

This role involves supporting the Project Manager and Project Department in project delivery, with responsibilities spanning pre-construction, construction, and project close-out phases. You will manage timelines, budgets, subcontractor relationships, and site operations while ensuring quality and safety standards are maintained throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Assist Project Manager/Project Department of the project
• Develop and complete monthly projected final cost and labor cost reports
• Assist in coordinating with developer, subcontractors, municipal entity, equipment suppliers, and site-specific construction suppliers to develop timelines for delivery and completion of milestones prior to project start-up
• Handle subcontractor relationships, including initial scope and proposal review, and developing final proposals based upon agreed scope of work
• Assist pre-construction team to prepare, review and monitor information and reports related to all costs involved in developing the project budget
• Provide Project Manager support on project quality and safe working environment
• Control project costs running at site
• Manage project claims and subcontractors' claims
• Schedule site security/amenities, subcontractors, equipment delivery, utility interconnections, and services in accordance with pre-determined construction schedule
• Coordinate with site and deliver all requirements for subcontractors and suppliers to meet schedules
• Prepare and maintain the project schedule, milestone dates, commissioning, and close-out checklists
• Handle and provide all close-out documentation to customer at completion of project
• Establish relationships and communication tools with suppliers and other key people to verify all materials, supplies, tools, equipment and personnel are obtained and/or delivered when necessary
• Conduct coordination meetings, project kick-off meeting, monthly site meetings, project team meetings, technical meetings, and subcontractors meetings

About you

• Possess at least a Degree in Civil Engineering, Building Surveying, Mechanical Engineering or any related field
• Excellent time management skill and able to work under pressure/tight deadlines and results oriented
• Positive working attitude, independently and hardworking
• Strong credibility for problem solving skill, detail-oriented and committed to work and task
• Have driving license and own transport
