About the role

We are pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for a Protégé trainees under our Ready To Work Programme, based at the Ministry of Finance (MOF) Putrajaya.

This is a full-time position designed specifically for graduates or early-career professionals who are ready to embark on their professional journey in financial accounting and reporting. The Ready To Work Programme is a structured development initiative that combines on-the-job training with mentorship from experienced accounting professionals. As a Protégé, you will work alongside our finance team, gaining practical experience in financial accounting, reporting processes, and regulatory compliance whilst building a foundation for a successful career in accounting.

What you'll be doing

• Conduct simple market research, including looking at industry trends, market conditions, prices, suppliers, supply and demand, competition and other relevant market information.
• Prepare management reports, simple dashboards and summaries based on financial, market and operational information.
• Collect, check and maintain data and information to ensure they are accurate, complete and up to date.
• Assist in the planning and organisation of programmes, meetings, workshops, seminars and engagement sessions, including preparing materials, coordinating with relevant parties and recording the outcomes.
• Assist in preparing briefing notes, working papers, presentation slides, meeting minutes, programme reports and other documents as required.
• Support the team in research, financial analysis, market studies, policy-related work and other administrative tasks when required.
• Work closely with officers and team members to ensure that reports, research and assigned tasks are completed accurately and on time.

What we're looking for

• A recent graduate or early-career professional with a degree in Accounting, Finance, Statistics or Data Analytics a related discipline
• Candidates with academic or practical experience in data analysis, research, financial reporting or management reporting will have an advantage.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and standard accounting software applications
• Excellent numeracy skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
• A willingness to learn and develop professional competencies in financial accounting and reporting
• Ability to follow instructions, meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks effectively
