What they need

Be the go-to maker for precision metal parts

If you thrive on turning prints into perfectly machined components, this role is for you. You’ll own setups, machining, and verification on conventional and special-purpose equipment while partnering with engineering and production to keep quality and throughput on point.

Role scope

  • Produce precise metallic components by setting up, operating, and adjusting conventional and special-purpose machines.
  • Translate blueprints, sketches, manuals, specifications, and sample parts into actionable sequences and tooling setups.
  • Plan and execute feeds, speeds, coolant, depth, and angle of cut; run trials and verify results.
  • Verify every critical dimension using micrometers, height gauges, and gauge blocks.
  • Diagnose and correct out-of-tolerance conditions; maintain process stability and part quality.
  • Create simple part sketches/specifications from general descriptions when needed.
  • Collaborate with engineers and production teams to resolve machining and assembly challenges.
  • Adhere to shop safety standards and complete routine preventive maintenance; coordinate repairs.

Daily toolkit

  • Machine shop theory, shop math, and layout techniques.
  • Workholding and tooling selection: fixtures, cutters, attachments, and accessories for saws, mills, grinders, burning, and drilling equipment.
  • Inspection practices anchored in GD&T and advanced gauging.

What you bring

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • 5+ years of manufacturing experience.
  • Ability to edit CNC programs as needed.
  • Ability to follow simple written and verbal instructions.
  • Blueprint reading for IDs, ODs, planar surfaces, and basic geometries.
  • Proven ability to hold specified tolerances; comfortable with micrometers and depth mics.
  • Lift 50 lbs regularly; able to work in tight spaces and to climb, balance, stoop, and kneel.
  • Background with stainless and tool steel alloys preferred.

Work setting

  • Expect periods of standing, sitting, walking, reaching, climbing/balancing, stooping/kneeling, talking/hearing, and frequent hand use with tools and equipment.
  • Vision: close, distance, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
  • Overtime may be required as workloads dictate (weekdays and weekends).
  • Primary duties occur in an office environment with required visits to the production site.
