Proxy Network Engineer

Job purpose:

As a Proxy Admin, you will be responsible for operating web-proxy-systems based on Fortinet’s Fortiproxy-

platform and Bluecoat Proxy.

Key activities (approx. 6-10)*:

• Operations of Fortiproxy-firewalls / Bluecoat Proxy

• Evaluate and configure proxy policy requests

• Handle Requests, Incidents, Changes and Problems (ServiceNow)

• Handling functions like web-contentfilter and SSL-interception

• Advise customers on how to secure their applications

• Communicate with different internal departments as well as external companies and vendors

• Work closely with our global network/security counterparts in London, New York and Singapore

• Follow company’s and regulator’s guidelines and ensure that internal and external requirements and

standards are met

• Creating and keeping up-to-date documentation

• Working on internal and external audits

• Evaluation of new products

• Provide 1st and 2nd level support for Frankfurt Datacenter and international datacenters and branches

• Contribute as an effective team player in an agile team

• Rotational oncall support during Germany’s off business hours

Formal education:

Relevant professional training / qualifications in networking / computer studies

Specialist knowledge (work experience, further qualification):

Qualifications/Skills Essential Skills;

• High level of competence and several years of professional experience in the areas of Network Security,

Firewall

• Understanding of Network Security principles and best practices

• Network theory and services (TCP/IP, UDP/IP, 7 layers of OSI, DNS, DHCP)

Professional Skills (technical, methodology and business):

• Web-Proxy-environments (preferred Fortiproxy)

• Fortinet-related products (Fortigate, Fortianalyzer, Fortimanager)

• User-based-authentication in proxy-environments (Active Directory)

• Web-contentfilter

• SSL-interception

• Loadbalancing

• Running and supporting high availability infrastructure

• Cloud-technologies

• Experience in operations of CISCO-devices (router/switches)

• Documentation of IT-infrastructures
