About Tigers Transport

Tigers Transport Limited is a growing PSV operator based in East London, operating a varied fleet of minibuses, midicoaches and full-size coaches.

We are looking for an experienced PSV / HGV Engineer to join our engineering team and take responsibility for the maintenance, servicing, inspection and repair of our fleet.

This is a hands-on role suited to an experienced commercial vehicle engineer who takes pride in keeping vehicles safe, reliable and operational.

The Role

Your responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance
• Carrying out regular safety inspections (PMIs)
• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults
• Investigating and rectifying vehicle defects
• Using commercial vehicle diagnostic equipment
• Working on diesel engines, braking systems, suspension and steering
• Diagnosing DPF, AdBlue/SCR and emissions-system faults
• Investigating engine management and warning-light faults
• Carrying out repairs and component replacement
• Completing accurate maintenance and repair records
• Assisting with roadside repairs and breakdowns when required
• Identifying recurring faults and preventative maintenance requirements
• Working closely with the Transport Manager and Operations team
• Ensuring vehicles are maintained in accordance with company procedures and maintenance schedules

About You

We are looking for someone with previous experience working on:

• PSV
• HGV
• Buses
• Coaches
• Minibuses
• Other commercial vehicles

You should have:

• Strong mechanical knowledge and practical repair skills
• Good diagnostic and fault-finding ability
• Experience with preventative maintenance
• Experience carrying out safety inspections/PMIs
• Knowledge of modern diesel engines and emissions systems
• Experience with DPF and AdBlue/SCR systems
• Ability to work independently and manage your workload
• Good attention to detail
• A reliable and professional approach
• Good record-keeping skills

Qualifications & Licences

Category D (PSV) licence is desirable.

Relevant engineering experience is more important than holding a specific qualification.

The following would be advantageous:

• NVQ / City & Guilds in Vehicle Maintenance
• IRTEC
• Experience using TEXA or similar diagnostic equipment
• Experience working on Mercedes, Scania, DAF, Yutong, Temsa or similar vehicles
