Job Overview

We are seeking a highlyskilled and motivated PSV (Public Service Vehicle) Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team at MM Band Services. In this vital role, you will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining a fleet of passenger service vehicles to ensure safety, reliability, and optimal performance. Your expertise will help keep our transportation services running smoothly and efficiently, providing a safe experience for all passengers. Duties

• Perform comprehensive inspections of PSV fleet vehicles
• Conduct repairs and maintenance on mechanical systems such as brakes, suspension, steering, and engines utilizing hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques.
• Execute electrical repairs involving wiring, soldering, circuit troubleshooting, and interpreting electrical schematics to resolve issues efficiently.
• Use diagnostic tools to identify faults in electrical and mechanical systems; repair or replace components accordingly.
• Maintain detailed records of all repairs performed; ensure compliance with safety standards and manufacturer guidelines.
• Assist with assembly or disassembly of vehicle components during repairs or upgrades; support equipment repair projects as required.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in mechanical repair with strong knowledge of heavy vehicle systems such as those found in buses or similar PSV vehicles.
• Skilled in fabrication, welding, soldering, electrical troubleshooting, and reading schematics.
• Proficient with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic devices.
• Knowledge of vehicle assembly processes and maintenance procedures for heavy machinery like excavators or forklifts is advantageous.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during repairs.
• Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders about repair status or technical issues.
• Prior experience working on electrical systems within transportation or industrial environments is highly desirable.
• Full UK Driving License, Category D license (preferred)
