PSV/PCV/Bus Engineer / Mechanic

Overview

We are seeking a skilled PSV/PCV/Bus Engineer / Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety, reliability, and optimal performance of passenger service vehicles (PSV), public commercial vehicles (PCV), and buses. Your expertise will help keep our fleet running smoothly, providing dependable transportation services to our valued customers. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your mechanical and electrical skills in a fast-paced environment dedicated to safety and excellence.

Our running fleet consists of 12 x 2025 Coaches running on our Flixbus Network and 4 x 2014 - 2024 Coaches on our school and Private Hire fleet.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive inspections and diagnostics on our coach fleet to identify mechanical and electrical issues.
• Perform repairs and maintenance using hand tools, power tools, welding, soldering, and fabrication techniques to ensure vehicles meet safety standards.
• Maintain detailed records of repairs, maintenance activities, and parts used; ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Part Ordering and stock control
• MOT preparation / Presentation
• Correction of running defects
• Paperwork to the required DVSA Standard
• Working on Own Initiative.
• Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in vehicle repair and maintenance.
• Proficiency in reading schematics, electrical diagrams, and technical manuals.
• Experience with equipment repair including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, and electrical components.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while handling vehicle parts or equipment.
• Knowledge of working with large vehicles such as buses or trucks.
• Excellent customer service skills coupled with a proactive approach to troubleshooting issues efficiently.
