Job Overview

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, including mental status examinations and behavioral assessments for patients of all ages.
• Prescribe and manage medications within collaborative practice agreements, adhering to HIPAA regulations and DEA guidelines.
• Develop personalized treatment plans that incorporate psychotherapy, medication management, and other therapeutic interventions.
• Collaborate closely with physicians, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare providers to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
• Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or eClinicalWorks for accurate documentation of patient encounters and treatment progress.
• Provide telehealth services to expand access to mental health care for remote or underserved populations.
• Educate patients and their families on mental health conditions, medication use, lifestyle modifications, and coping strategies to promote recovery and resilience.

Qualifications

• Valid state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner with certification in Psychiatry or Mental Health Nursing.
• Proven experience working with behavioral health patients across diverse settings such as hospitals, outpatient clinics, or assisted living facilities.
• Strong knowledge of psychiatric medications, psychopharmacology, and clinical research methodologies.
• Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Athenahealth or Cerner for efficient medical documentation.
• Experience in acute care environments such as ICU or emergency medicine is highly desirable.
• Ability to perform physical examinations, vital signs assessment, medication administration, and diagnostic evaluations confidently.
• Excellent communication skills for client education, case management, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Pay: $150,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year
