Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Job Summary
Positive Reset of Iselin Mental Health Clinic is seeking a dedicated Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (APN) to join our team. In this key role, you will contribute to the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of mental health disorders, providing comprehensive care for patients with conditions such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, ADHD, and more. Your expertise will support our mission to deliver compassionate and high-quality mental health services.

Responsibilities

• Conducting initial psychiatric patient evaluations to determine medication needs.
• Provide medication management using established guidelines.
• Prescribe medications and participate in treatment plans for a variety of psychiatric conditions.
• Providing care which considers patients’ age-specific safety needs
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals.
• Meeting with patients on a monthly or bimonthly basis to monitor their progress and to make any necessary changes to their medication regimen
• Maintain patient records (evaluations and interactions with patients), documenting treatment progress and medication effects promptly after sessions in our Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system.
• Completing clinical documentation to assist patients in acquiring and maintaining disability

Experience

• A valid Nurse Practitioner license with specialization in psychiatry is required.
• Experience in medication administration and familiarity with coding practices is essential.
• Demonstrated understanding of psychiatric disorders and treatment modalities.
