Psychologist

Waimea College is seeking Expressions of Interest from a New Zealand Registered Psychologist to provide psychological services within our Special Education Department, supporting ORS-funded students aged 12 to 21 years with diverse learning and developmental needs.

Working within a responsive and student-centred team, the psychologist will support students, whānau, and staff to promote positive learning, wellbeing, engagement, and behavioural outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

·         Conduct assessments and provide recommendations to support student outcomes.

·         Develop, implement, and review individual support plans.

·         Provide consultation and guidance to teaching and support staff.

·         Work alongside staff to observe, model, and evaluate strategies and programmes.

·         Liaise with whānau, external agencies, and specialists as required.

·         Maintain professional records and documentation.

Skills and Experience

·         Current New Zealand registration and Annual Practising Certificate.

·         Experience working with neurodiverse young people and students with additional learning needs.

·         Strong assessment, communication, and consultation skills.

·         A commitment to inclusive and culturally responsive practice.
